PAYware Mobile and ROAMpay Mobile are the most popular smartphone credit card processing applications in our office. A frequently asked questions is, “what is the difference between the two apps”? Here are the major differences between PAYware and ROAMpay.
PAYware Mobile has signature capture capabilities. ROAMpay Mobile does not. Customers signatures are captured directly on the iPhone screen using the stylus pen.
Limited Phone Compatibility
PAYware Mobile only works with the iPhone 3G or 3GS. ROAMpay is compatible with many different smartphones, Android, Droid, iPhone, iPhone 4, Blackberry, and HTC (just to name a few).
PAYware mobile has a tracking capability that allows users to geographically track sales. Mobile users can identify what locations are the most profitable.
Cash Order Function
ROAMpay allows users to enter cash orders into application. PAYware mobile does not. The cash order function can benefit those merchants looking to have all sales together on one application for receipts and reporting.
ROAMpay start-up is more cost effective than PAYware mobile, through PaymentMax. PaymentMax is offering the ROAMpay mobile swiper free with new, approved accounts. PAYware mobile card reader is $139.00 at the Apple store.
Start accepting credit cards on your smartphone today with a PaymentMax merchant account and ROAMpay. ROAMpay mobile is compatible with over 400 different cell phone models, including the popular iPhone 4, Droid X, Droid 2, and HTC Hero.

I have received many inquires to the availability of a mobile credit card reader (swiper) for the Droid X. As of today, the card reader is not available. The anticipated release date is before labor day. However, Droid X users can manually process credit and debit cards using their phone and the ROAMpay mobile app. Once the swiper is released, PaymentMax can upgrade existing Droid X merchant accounts with no extra costs. PaymentMax will also be offering a free Droid X swiper for free for a limited time after its release.
The PAYware mobile encryption sleeve is a small device that connects to your iPhone 3G, or iPhone 3GS. The encryption sleeve allows you to physically swipe your customers creditor debit cards. Swiping credit cards are attractive to mobile merchants because they cost the least amount of money to process-”swiped rates”.
Here is where you can find the PAYware mobile encryption sleeve.
Monday Apple announced that beginning on July 30th, 17 more countries will be able to purchase the iPhone 4. Great news for mobile merchants in the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland. They can now turn their iPhones into Sell Phones!
iPhone credit card processing has opened the doors wide open for U.S. mobile merchants, once restricted by cash only payments. They no longer have to turn customers away, or accept risky personal checks. U.S. iPhone processing merchants have seen sales steadily increase with positive feedback from customers. Customers love the technology, convenience, and emailed receipts.
While PaymentMax only offers credit card processing in the United States, 17 other countries will now be able to use their iPhone 4 to securely accept credit and debit cards anywhere using their local merchant account providers.
Cash…who needs cash!
Merchants who want the ability to accept credit cards on their cell phone now have the ability to print customer receipts, instantly. Introducing ROAMpay Bluetooth swiper and printer device.
A common question asked by merchants interested in processing credit cards with their iPhone and PAYware mobile is can the application multi-task? Can I receive a phone call while I am processing a credit or debit card transaction? The answer is yes. iPhone merchants can still receive a phone call, even if they are in the middle of processing a sale.
This is how it works. A prompt will come up on the screen when a call is coming in. It will ask the user if they would like to accept the call, or decline it. If the user accepts the call, the transaction is put on hold, so to speak. Once the call is abated, the app will ask for the merchants password, and the transaction will be resumed.
PaymentMax introduces today that it can now support the iPhone 4 for credit card processing. Big news out there for the iPhone 4 business owners out there. Here are 10 reasons why processing credit cards with your iPhone 4 will leave a big smile on your face.
1. Anywhere you are processing.
2. No Supplies to Buy.
3. Earth Friendly.
4. Low card present, swiped processing rates.
5. Higher average ticket.
6. PCI compliant.
7. Reporting and tracking capabilities.
8. No customer lines.
9. Cool, Easy, and Fast.
10. Never turn down a sale again…even to those with no cash!
