PAYware Mobile has a big benefit for new merchants it’s called test drive mode, and it allows new users to become familiar with the credit card processing app frontwards and backwards before activating their account!! Test driving the app before activation lowers the amount of initial processing errors, and increases the merchants confidence level tremendously!
PAYware mobile is currently available to iPhone 3G, 3GS, and iPhone 4 models (swiper/encryption sleeve) and the iPod Touch (keyed). It is not compatible with older versions.

Mobile Credit Card Processing-PAYware Mobile Receipt Questions
A great question I received in the office today was about PAYware mobile credit card processing receipts, and if they are customizable. The answer is, “absolutely”!
Mobile merchants accepting credit cards on their iPhone 3G and iPhone 3Gs will email customers their sales receipt. The receipt will contain all of the necessary information required by payment processing regulations, but the header and footer area can be customized to meet the needs of the merchant.
To customize receipts the merchant must be logged in to the PAYware Connect gateway, and from there enter the Merchant Portal section.

PAYware Mobile Versus ROAMpay Mobile Credit Card Applications
PAYware Mobile and ROAMpay Mobile are the most popular smartphone credit card processing applications in our office. A frequently asked questions is, “what is the difference between the two apps”? Here are the major differences between PAYware and ROAMpay.
Signature Capture
PAYware Mobile has signature capture capabilities. ROAMpay Mobile does not. Customers signatures are captured directly on the iPhone screen using the stylus pen.
Limited Phone Compatibility
PAYware Mobile only works with the iPhone 3G or 3GS. ROAMpay is compatible with many different smartphones, Android, Droid, iPhone, iPhone 4, Blackberry, and HTC (just to name a few).
Tracking Capabilities
PAYware mobile has a tracking capability that allows users to geographically track sales. Mobile users can identify what locations are the most profitable.
Cash Order Function
ROAMpay allows users to enter cash orders into application. PAYware mobile does not. The cash order function can benefit those merchants looking to have all sales together on one application for receipts and reporting.
Cost
ROAMpay start-up is more cost effective than PAYware mobile, through PaymentMax. PaymentMax is offering the ROAMpay mobile swiper free with new, approved accounts. PAYware mobile card reader is $139.00 at the Apple store.
PAYware Mobile Credit Card Processing App Compatible with Apple iOS 4 Operating System
Good news for all of the mobile merchants out there who have recently updated their iPhone with Apple’s newest operating system iOS 4 – Payware Mobile is compatible with an update! Here is how to update your iPhone with the PAYware mobile update.
PAYware Mobile v1.004 can be installed by entering the App store from your iPhone. Notification of the update should appear in the lower right area of your screen.
Touch update, and then touch install from the PAYware Mobile app store listing. Once the update has been installed, you can begin to process your customers credit and debit cards.
To get started processing credit cards on the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, or iPhone 4.
Map Credit Card Transactions with PAYware Mobile
PAYware mobile has a really cool marketing feature available to its users, it is called Map Function. The map function is located in the transaction info screen and allows merchants to pin point exactly where their sales have been made.
The map function plots every transaction location with a pin needle. Once all transactions have been plotted the user gains a clear view of which locations are the busiest and the best for business. A great tool for on-the-go merchants, like food vendors, seeking hungry customers.
The map function can make print advertising more efficient and cost effective for businesses. The most profitable geographic areas are revealed eliminating wasted time and money on “dead” zones.
PAYware Mobile Questions
Another common question business owners wanting to process credit cards on their iPhone 3G or iPhone 3G S ask, “Is the PAYware mobile application customizable”? The answer is yes.
Here is how.
Sales Tax
Merchants have the ability to customize the tax percentage calculated on each sale. This rate can be changed, on-the-go, for those merchants who travel to different tax rate areas.
Tip Function
Merchants have two options when customizing their tip function on PAYware mobile. They can have the application calculate based on a certain percentage of the sale (say 20%), or they can manually enter the tip amount for each sale.
