AprivaPay Mobile Credit Card Processing is Browser Based
A great question we received in the office today is do I need to manage software updates on my phone if I choose AprivaPay over ROAMpay (or PAYware mobile)? The answer is “No”.
A great benefit of AprivaPay is that it is browser not software based. This means that instead of downloading a credit card processing app, the merchant accesses AprivaPay’s mobile terminal site with their cell phone.
A username and password is entered on the AprivaPay site. Then credit card information is entered and processed. AprivaPay manages the back-end. There are never any software updates to download.
This can be a huge benefit for those merchants who do not like to be distracted by updates. AprivaPay is compatible with a few phones including the iPhone 4 and Droid X.

Increase Sales with Mobile Phone Credit Card Processing
Businesses have become highly mobile over the last couple of years, but recent advancements in mobile credit card processing apps have made it oh so much better. Mobile merchants like limo drivers, home service repair technicians, holiday light hangers, home party consultants, and massage therapists can now accept all forms of payment instantly, using their mobile phone. Here are a few ways businesses accepting credit cards on their cell phones can increase sales.
Attract Cashless Customers
In today’s highly plastic world, customers rarely carry cash. Using debit cards for purchases has become more popular and attractive to consumers in 2010. Mobile business owners can now cash in on their cashless customers by offering credit and debit card acceptance, directly on the spot.
Higher Ticket Amounts
Numerous studies have revealed that consumers spend more money when they are paying with a credit card versus cash. Capture this human tendency by giving your customers the option to pay with a credit card when the purchase decision is being made.
Impulse Buying
We are all guilty of it-impulse buying, especially at those large warehouse stores. But, those large warehouse stores are on to something…strike while the iron is hot, and sales will increase. Mobile merchants using cell phones, like the Apple iPhone or iPad, can do this by walking around their store (or kiosk) with phone in hand. Eliminating customer check out lines will increase sales by reducing the amount of time consumers have to contemplate the purchase.
Professional Image
Businesses that accept credit and debit cards appear more professional, and legitimate than those companies who accept cash only. Mobile merchants with no means of electricity were once saddled by this way of thinking. Thanks to smartphones like the Droid X and HTC EVO, these image issues can be overcome.
Consumers Never Lose Sight of Their Cards
One great advantage to mobile phone credit card acceptance is the fact that the consumer never loses sight of their card. This greatly reduces the chances of credit card skimming, or the illegal copying of credit card information. Consumer confidence and reassurance in your business is a great way to increase sales, and repeat business.
Credit and debit card payments have become the preferred method of payment for most consumers. Mobile phone credit card processing can increase sales by attracting cashless customers, project a professional image, promote cardholder security, and capture impulse buys and higher average ticket sales.

ROAMpay Questions – Confirming a transaction.
Processing credit cards using ROAMpay and your mobile phone (over 100 models are compatible, see my compatibility list) is simple and straight forward.
Once the card has been swiped, and all information entered you will see either Payment Approved! or Payment Declined! In rare cases, you may see an error message. This could mean that the transaction timed out.
To confirm whether a transaction has successfully been completed, check your current batch. Access your current batch under the Inquiry Menu. The last transaction processed will show at the top of the current batch list. If the last transaction listed is the transaction you are inquiring about, then it was processed correctly.
If the latest transaction is not listed under current batch, then the transaction needs to be re-entered and submitted.
PaymentMax is a proud ROAMdata partner and supplier of all ROAMdata products, including ROAMpay Mobile and ROAMpay Mobile Credit Card Reader.
PAYware Mobile Credit Card Reader and iphone 4 Compatibility
Currently the PAYware mobile encryption sleeve (credit card reader) is only compatible with the iphone 3G and iphone 3GS.
PAYware mobile has an iphone 4 credit card reader in the works, and PaymentMax will be one of the first to offer it to clients.
The iphone 4 is significantly different than the iphone 3G, 3GS and any attempts to use the encryption sleeve with the iphone 4 may void warranties for either device.
If you would like to accept credit cards on your iphone 4, you may do so with a manual entry of credit card data using the PAYware mobile application.

PAYware Mobile Versus ROAMpay Mobile Credit Card Applications
PAYware Mobile and ROAMpay Mobile are the most popular smartphone credit card processing applications in our office. A frequently asked questions is, “what is the difference between the two apps”? Here are the major differences between PAYware and ROAMpay.
Signature Capture
PAYware Mobile has signature capture capabilities. ROAMpay Mobile does not. Customers signatures are captured directly on the iPhone screen using the stylus pen.
Limited Phone Compatibility
PAYware Mobile only works with the iPhone 3G or 3GS. ROAMpay is compatible with many different smartphones, Android, Droid, iPhone, iPhone 4, Blackberry, and HTC (just to name a few).
Tracking Capabilities
PAYware mobile has a tracking capability that allows users to geographically track sales. Mobile users can identify what locations are the most profitable.
Cash Order Function
ROAMpay allows users to enter cash orders into application. PAYware mobile does not. The cash order function can benefit those merchants looking to have all sales together on one application for receipts and reporting.
Cost
ROAMpay start-up is more cost effective than PAYware mobile, through PaymentMax. PaymentMax is offering the ROAMpay mobile swiper free with new, approved accounts. PAYware mobile card reader is $139.00 at the Apple store.
